First of all, be wise in the use of PowerPoint or other presentation software (I use Beamer and PGF/TikZ personally). Resist the temptation to write too much on your slides: I don't want to suffer death by bullet!

Even though there is a lot of information on the Internet, there is even more information in books. These books can give you another perspective on the course material.
